A Rolling Stone fez o que todo mundo adora: um ranking misturando todos os nossos artistas favoritos. A revista listou as 250 maiores músicas do século XXI, uma viagem pelos últimos 25 anos que mistura nostalgia, hits de rádio, virais do TikTok e hinos que mudaram o rumo da cultura pop.

No topo, Missy Elliott reina com “Get Ur Freak On”, um clássico que redefiniu o hip hop e abriu espaço pra sonoridades experimentais que hoje são mainstream. O restante do top 5 é igualmente poderoso, com nomes como Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, The White Stripes e Radiohead, todos artistas que ajudaram a construir o som e a estética do século.

O mais interessante é a diversidade: o ranking vai de reggaeton ao pop, de emo a afrobeats, de Johnny Cash a Olivia Rodrigo. Tem canções que marcaram gerações, e outras que ainda estão fresquinhas no streaming e nas suas playlists.

E o recorte não é só sobre popularidade, a lista da Rolling Stone busca celebrar brilhantismo e originalidade musical (de acordo com a revista), destacando artistas que ousaram e experimentaram.
